The organization has been raising women’s rights issues, particularly within the developmental and political context of India. Achange help women to help themselves by providing a platform for advancement and empowerment to unskilled and less privileged women. Our organisation provide easy access to education, vocational skills training and employment.
Achange is a one-stop centre that will provide essential support, information and education to women and girls
The GWRC creates a community space providing women current and critical information, community meeting space, and computer and life skill trainings. It is through information and education that self-esteem and empowerment is facilitated, enabling women to stand up and lead themselves out of the vicious cycle of poverty that is often presented before them.
we provides women and girls access to information and support through small group educational courses, including computer skills, helping them become more able to make informed decisions about their lives. The Centre educates women about their health and well being, including access to family planning information, learning money management for economic empowerment and how to recognize and address domestic violence. In addition, the centre will house the Peer Counselling and Access to Justice Teams and hosting community interest events.
The on-site Resource Library is utilized by university students, training colleges, and for private research and study.
The computer lab receives an average of 15-25 users each day, serving a total of 621 individuals including students, researchers, and community members. The Center provided a 3-month basic computer training course to 27 young women to improve their knowledge and skills in the changing economy.
- – To use the natural talents of girls and women who have no special skills, both in the urban and rural areas, so that they may be drawn into the national economy.
- – To help them actively with ideas and skills in voluntary as well as paid work, and to upgrade their talents so that they may become productive members of society.
- – To institute training methods on the job, so that needy persons may be enabled to both earn and learn
- – To assist in the marketing of products made by them so that the training and upgrading of the needy may be undertaken as far as possible on a self-supporting basis
- – To advance any other project of general public benefit, including the welfare of women and children and the welfare and general advancement of the less advantaged classes.
- – To undertake such projects as the society may think fit with the object of improving the condition of the people of India, economically, morally, socially and culturally .
